Movie sets have come a long way over the years, especially in terms of detail and scale, especially for huge productions with considerable budgets. Granted, nowadays computer simulations are preferred in most situations, but there are cases when the real deal is still the way to go. Hence, it can be quite the experience to get a closer look at a movie set if you get the chance.

Fantasy Mosaics 21: On the Movie Set is yet another entry in the popular mosaic puzzle series, and it allows you to go on another adventure with the famous penguin family. There are obviously no great revelations in terms of gameplay, since the formula is exactly the same as in all the previous episodes, but there’s no need for that in this case.

Hence, this adventure takes you through a movie studio, which means that you get to see sets and a bit of the movie industry behind the curtains. All of this is mostly presented using basic cutscenes, so do not expect any incredible sights or anything of the sort. However, at least some of the mosaics you tackle along the way have something to do with movies.

The gameplay formula hasn’t changed at all from the previous entries in the series, which means that it should be familiar if you played any of the other games. Hence, the goal is to fill the tiles with various colors and follow the instructions as precisely as you can. You are allowed to make a couple mistakes, thankfully, but if you make too many you are forced to restart the whole level, which is a bit of a bother.

As far as the graphics are concerned, don’t expect an awful lot in this regard, especially when you consider the rest of the series. The cutscenes are particularly painful to watch, but then again they are not at all important in the grand scheme of things. Thankfully, the mosaics are very nice and colorful, which should be enough to keep you in a good mood.

When it’s all said and done, Fantasy Mosaics 21: On the Movie Set is far from a revolutionary game, but it ticks all the right boxes for nonogram fans. In fact, even total beginners can jump right into it without too many problems.
