F.E.A.R. Multiplayer Demo
The multiplayer component for the successful psychological horror FPS, complete with a variety of game modes and maps #F.E.A.R. FPS #Paranormal storyline #Paramilitary force #F.E.A.R. #FPS #Paranormal
F.E.A.R. is a horror FPS that featured jaw-dropping graphics and a very refined AI system, as well as an intricate story line that slowly progressed as you advanced further and further into the game. Now, you can experience the visceral combat mechanics in multiplayer as well and match your skills against people from all over the globe.
When it comes tot the actual gameplay, the multiplayer features the same elements as the singleplayer campaign, only with real people as enemies instead of the AI. Thus, although the weapons might differ a bit and you are not allowed to use the bullet-time mechanic, the shooting sequences play out mostly the same, depending on the map and the surrounding environment.
Moreover, there are a hefty number of game modes available, such as the classical deathmatch and team deathmatch, as well as last man standing and capture the flag. While the first two are rather self-explanatory, as is the CTF term, the latter is basically a round in which the player who manages to kill everyone else is declared the winner. There are also the “SlowMo” game types, which introduce the reflex time gimmick and allows one player to hold the power to control time.
Since the game is a psychological horror after all, the maps are designed in order to reflect that, even if there are no monsters or creepy apparitions to give you nightmares. On the other hand, blood is splattered all over the place and it is always dark, making rather uncomfortable to play the game at night, especially if you do not fare well under such conditions.
Graphically-speaking, the multiplayer mode maintains the same quality standards as the rest of the game, even if it is possible to hurt the performance and suffer from lag times if your computer cannot hold the chosen settings. Regardless of that, the maps are very carefully detailed and modeled, with a lot of objects laying around and plenty of routes you can take to surprise the enemy team.
In the end, F.E.A.R.'s multiplayer is just as intense and visceral as the singleplayer, thanks to the refined mechanics and large number of gameplay modes. The fact that environment is just as destructible as it is in the campaign makes for some very interesting shootouts, especially on higher quality settings.
