Explorobot Demo
Explore a strange forest and discover your mysterious past in this top-down adventure game #Robot Explorer #Explore Forest #Adventure Game #Robot #Explorer #Adventure
Robots are not science fiction material anymore, especially since we have them incorporated into mostly everything, and they are almost taking over most demanding jobs. However, they are certainly not very intelligent in the true sense of the word yet, which is why we can be sure that they won’t rebel against us anytime soon.
Explorobot is not a brilliant game, and it can barely provide you with a few minutes of entertainment, which is a bit disappointing this day and age. In essence, it’s all about exploring a dark forest and dealing with the enemies that try to stop you. You play as a robot throughout the adventure, which means that you get to make use of its superior skills when it comes to weapons and movement.
Unfortunately, the story is almost non-existent, and you never get an explanation for why is the robot stuck in the said forest. Granted, you are told that the robot suffers from amnesia and doesn’t remember what happened before, which is both hilarious and frustrating at the same time, for the players. Hence, it is never a good idea to make an adventure game without a story.
As you walk through the forest, you can stumble into new weapons that can improve your damage. It is possible to switch between them at any time, although it really makes no difference whatsoever. The reason for that is that the robot does not seem to take any kind of damage from anyone, whether it’s the enemies or the traps you walk into. Hence, the weapons are pretty much useless.
Things are not much brighter in the technical department either, because the visuals are way too basic to make an impression and the artwork is non-existent, in essence. While it generally doesn’t really matter how the graphics engine performs in an adventure game, there is nothing else to distract you from the ugly level design in this case, so it must be mentioned.
In the end, it’s a struggle to find a reason someone should give Explorobot a try. The story is lacking, the level design is awful, the damage system doesn’t seem to work and there is literally nothing else to do. Thus, you’d be just as thrilled not playing anything at all, or maybe taking a nap.
