Eternal Radiance Demo

When we think about the games that come out of Japan, two great genres come to mind: JRPGs, and Visual Novels, which usually involve the classic manga art style along with fantastic special effects, relatable love stories and more. Eternal Radiance promises to blend these two game genres into one in a way that will make you crave for more and more after each game session.

You play as Celeste, a young knight seeking to gain power and respect from her superiors by saving whoever may be in need. The game features an expanded roster of characters, each of them uniquely designed thanks to the outstanding quality of the art. You interact with these characters like visual novels, gaining and losing their favor (and potential items) through the answers you give and the decisions you make.

Since no RPG can call itself that way without the questing elements, Eternal Radiance gives you plenty of chances to talk to the general population and accept as many quests as possible, because you're a good-hearted knight that promised to help the innocent. Actual gameplay takes place in true JRPG style thanks to the beautiful 3D graphics, and everything from the character to the skills and magic it uses looks amazing. As Celeste, you command a wide array of basic attack combos with your sword, while also being proficient in what seems to be ice magic.

While still in the production phase, Eternal Radiance already offers quite a lot as far as demos go, as the forest you fight in is quite large and filled with plenty of enemies to give you a headache, ranging from the basic goblin swordsmen to spellcasters and big hobgoblins. The movements of both Celeste and the enemies are quite fluid, and the combat is action-based and not tab-targeted, giving Eternal Radiance an even more dynamic feel to it.

Eternal Radiance proves itself to be a great mix of two game genres that we mostly associate with Japan. The art style is beautiful, combat feels quite engaging and the dialogues will surely give you your fair share of giggles.
