Episicava Demo
Find your way in a world where almost everyone has supernatural powers and humanity is split into multiple factions #Visual novel #Role-playing game #Interactive story #Novel #Role-play #Fantasy
Although humans possess a few incredible abilities, our imagination allows us to dream about much more impressive powers, such as being able to fly or lift heavy objects. Hence, it’s no wonder that there are thousands of superheroes out there in movies, comic books and video games, and there’s certainly no shortage of ideas in the genre.
Episicava is a simple visual novel currently in the works that allows you to be part of a weird world in which people possess all sorts of special abilities. Naturally, these abilities allow them to wage war against each other in order to see who is the strongest. The underlying idea is not all that original, but the plot is fairly long and convoluted, sporting multiple routes and interesting events.
You play the role of a misguided boy by the name of Arin, who goes on a mission to rescue his friend and defeat a variety of enemies in his quest. Speaking of which, the game world revolves around the fact that some kind of cosmic event affected Earth and allowed humans to wield great powers. However, there are different kinds of abilities, so the humankind has split into different factions as well.
As it’s always the case, a few other characters join your quest along the way, and you can get close to them over the course of the journey. The demo is obviously too short to form an opinion about this, but it’s clear that some of the female characters might be interested in a romantic relationship. Combat should also be part of the mix, which makes things even more exciting.
The graphics are an important part of visual novels, given the fact that there’s not much interaction to distract you from the visual component. Thankfully, everything is well in this regard, especially when it comes to the backgrounds and the coziness of the landscapes in general. Even the characters are nicely designed and somewhat memorable, even if there are a few cliches every now and again.
In the end, Episicava is certainly an interesting project, so it’s worth keeping an eye on it. However, you can help the developers get their ideas out there by participating in their Kickstarter campaign.
