Empire Earth III US Demo
The third title in the popular RTS series takes matters to a whole new level, by allowing you to conquer the entire globe. #Empire Earth 3 #Conquer Earth #Real-time strategy #Globe #Entire #Rule
Whenever two or more opposing sides go head-to-head against each other, things usually escalate until only one of them comes out on top. While this has yet to happen on a global scale, it would not be that difficult to imagine nations fighting one another in order to gain supremacy over the entire Earth, as long as the technology is advanced enough to allow them proper control once one of them declares itself victorious.
Empire Earth III is part of the RTS series that managed to captivate a huge number of players from around the world, thanks to the many gameplay options and the wide variety of nations that were playable. The fact that you could advance from the stone age all the way to futuristic civilizations using robots and drones to fight was certainly a big attraction, considering that there aren't many other games out there to offer something similar.
Unlike in the previous episodes, however, there are not that many nations available this time around, only three main factions that can customized according to your preferences. There are, however, some sub-factions that can be regarded as separate nations, but the differences are not that visible and the change is clearly not in the spirit of the franchise. Despite that, you can still have a bit fun in the Earth domination mode, which basically allows you to slowly conquer every piece of the planet with the chosen faction.
Things stop being so jolly once you get into the actual game, however, since the developers somehow forgot everything they learned with the first few titles. Hence, the mechanics are faulty and the entire core gameplay components fail to make any sense, since not even buildings can be placed in the natural way anymore. Combat is very buggy and the units move extremely slowly, not to mention the fact that they are very expensive and not very powerful in the end.
In case you manage to get acquainted with the mechanics and get over all the bad parts regarding the gameplay, you might still be very disappointed in the technical aspect as well, since nothing really works like it should. While the graphics could be considered decent, although they also have an assortment of flaws attached to them, the sound is the one that really oversteps its boundaries. This is because the developers decided to include humor in the game, without actually being funny, which is a very awful combination that really feasts on your good mood. As an example, you only have to listen to the unit responses for a few minutes and everything should become quite clear.
In the end, no one is that eager to commemorate Empire Earth III, not even the creators themselves, who are not really mentioning it anymore. Hence, despite the fact that the game itself is actually quite mediocre and not entirely bad, you definitely need a lot of endurance and patience in order to enjoy it, although it can also work if you are not aware of the previous episodes.
