EmergeNYC Demo
Respond to emergencies and operate a variety of vehicles in this simulator taking place in a fictional New York City #Firefighting game #Emergency response #Firefighter simulator #Firefighter #Emergency #Simulator
Part of what allows us to thrive as a society is the fact that there are people out there willing to put themselves in dangerous situations in order to keep others safe. Hence, emergency services are designed to respond as quickly as possible and do everything in their power to save everyone. Hence, firefighters are just some of the heroes who keep coming to our rescue when things go bad.
EmergeNYC is a simulator that allows you to get a closer look at what it takes to be part of an emergency response team, although the game is far from finished at this point. In essence, the full version should enable you to play the role of a firefighter, an EMT or a policeman, depending on your preferences. However, the demo only allows you to drive three vehicles around a pretty small map.
The first thing you notice is the fact that you play from a spectator’s point of view in the demo, which is not a bad thing, except that in this case the mechanics are not very polished. It’s rather difficult to move around the map, and it’s even more difficult to get into vehicles. The game should allow you to jump into a vehicle and change it when you get bored, but that doesn’t seem to happen due to some bug.
The camera is a bit annoying too, especially when you want to switch to a first-person point of view. The truth is that the demo at hand does not really tell you what the full game is about, and the full game itself is in early access at this point. You are supposed to be able to explore a whole city and respond to a variety of emergencies, but you cannot experience that at all in the demo.
However, you can tell that the developers have put a lot of work into the vehicle models, because each one of them looks very much like their real counterpart. Every part looks convincing and enjoyable, which should really do wonders for the atmosphere. As for the overall graphics, the game is a tad too dark, and the environments are not as detailed as they could be.
All things considered, EmergeNYC is not there yet, because it’s missing too many components to be enjoyable for more than a few minutes. However, the developers are actively working on improving the game and adding more features.
