Dungeon Rushers Demo
Gather as much loot as you can from the deepest dungeons in this tactical turn-based adventure game #Dungeon crawler #Turn-based strategy #Tactical strategy #Dungeon #Rusher #Crawler
In fantasy universes, dungeons are places where everyone goes to hide their treasure, even if they are the first targets for adventurers in search of loot. Obviously, some treasures are well-guarded by giant monsters and dragons, so the task is not as simple as it seems. Still, it would seem like every slightly dark cave is filled up to the ceiling with gold and rare swords.
Dungeon Rushers is a tactical strategy game that takes its inspiration from multiple sources, while also blending a variety of different gameplay mechanics. It’s premise is that of a classic dungeon crawler, but it looks a lot like a simple turn-based strategy game. On top of that, you can also hire different heroes and upgrade their skills to improve their effectiveness in battle, so there’s even an RPG aftertaste to it all.
The campaign mode has you jumping from dungeon to dungeon on a quest to defeat bigger and meaner monsters, with a cute story tying it all together to keep you from getting bored. Thankfully, the dungeons are randomly generated when it comes to layout, so it’s highly unlikely that they’ll start repeating themselves. Even better, you can really go wild when it comes to equipment as well, especially since you can craft your own.
Whenever you run into an enemy on the map, the game switches to combat mode. In this mode, each character gets one turn to make a move. Whether you go for a simple attack with your sword or a special ability, all that changes is the amount of damage you inflict and the mana cost for special abilities. Healing is important as well, although you can still go on with some of your party members knocked out.
In the technical department, the game is highly polished, even in this early phase. The visual component is sharp and very pleasant to the eye, while the soundtrack impresses as well. Interface wise, there are some issues with the camera control, mainly because you have to hold and drag in order to look around the map. This isn’t technically an issue, it’s just that it doesn’t come naturally at first.
Everything seems to be in the right place for now. Dungeon Rushers has a bright future ahead, especially if the developers keep at it and add enough content to keep the players busy for a significant period of time. Thankfully, the random level generation should do the trick, if nothing else.
Note: You can support Dungeon Rushers by voting for it to be Greenlit on Steam.
