Drovoid Arena Demo
Build you ship, launch it, and see if it can fight other ships built by players around the world #Ship simulator #Build ships #Build sim #Drovoid #Arena #Demo
Drovoid Arena is a game that lets users design ships and make them fight one another in a ranked system.
It’s difficult to place Drovoid Arena in a specific genre because it doesn’t really fit anywhere. We can call it a sim because its basic function is to simulate space battles, but that’s pretty much it. The developer of this game is working on something unique, and that hard to do in today’s industry when it seems that everything has been done already.
There are a couple of games out there that have automated fights between ships, but that's the only comparison that can be done. Drovoid Arena is a very interesting concept, and it could be a very successful one if the game dev does things right.
Right now, players can design their own ships, upload them to the game server, and pit them against others. If you win, you ship gains points and starts climbing the rankings. There is no story to speak of, and the gameplay is mostly resumed at watching the AI fighting with the tools that you have provided.
The demo version of the Drovoid Arena only allows for fights between other player's ships and your own designs, and you can’t use anything past level 3. Also, if you make a really good ship, you won’t be able to upload it.
The full game allows players to build large fleets, ships that can spawn other ships, and much more. The battlefield can become crowded with explosions and only the AI can determine the winner.
Everything happens in the confined of an asteroid belt, so leaving the belt is not advisable. In the design mode, you can take control of the ships, but the matches won’t be ranked.
The only major issue is that the AI seems to be a little dumb sometimes, and the shops collide like they are attracted to one another. For this reason, alone some fights seem to be lost by powerful ships, even if that shouldn’t have happened.
Users who are looking form something new should give the Drovoid Arena a try.
