Devil Whiskey Demo
An old-school action-RPG in which you get to create your own party from scratch and try to get the world rid of evil #Action RPG #Action adventure #Rpg adventure #Rpg #Action #Adventure
The action-RPG genre may not be as deep or have as much dialogue as a classic role-playing game, but they are definitely more complicated and fairly complex. Moreover, there are usually many different classes and abilities that can be used in battle, as well as plenty of monsters to defeat along the way.
Devil Whiskey is an interesting experiment, since it combines a lot of elements together, as well as massive quantities of lore to spice up the action. Although it can be safely defined as an action-RPG with a turn-based combat system, the game also includes a few other interesting gimmicks, such as the fact that you can build your own adventurer party from scratch and send them on a journey.
To begin with, you must first add the desired party members and customize everything about them, starting with the genre and appearance, all the way to class and skill points. The game allows you to form parties of up to eight different adventurers at the same time, each one of which can specialize in a different class. In case eight party members might seem a bit too much, things quickly change once you start having a few confrontations out on the map, since the battles are very difficult and the enemies fairly strong.
The first thing you may notice when you first enter the game is the fact that all of the actual action happens in a small screen somewhere in the corner of the image, while the rest is reserved for dialogue, inventory and various other tools that might come in handy. However, things are not as bad as they might sound, because you quickly get used to it and the graphics actually feel quite cozy after a while.
The game also uses a rather unusual control scheme, since every option is presented in text form and you must use different keys each time, in order to choose the desired option. The whole scheme is very intuitive, though, and you are at no point left in the dark when it comes to the controls, because there are always tips to lead you in the right direction.
In the end, Devil Whiskey can be responsible for a lot of lost time, mainly due to the sheer number of things that you can do right from the get-go. The story is very intriguing as well, as is the fact that you can manually create and customize each member of your party.
