Depth Hunter Demo
Explore the bottom of the sea and hunt the most dangerous fish out there in this beautiful simulator #Spearfishing expedition #Underwater simulator #Underwater fishing #Depth #Hunter #Spearfish
The underwater world may look like something taken out of a fairy tale, or even a horror story if you dare to venture a bit deeper, but the truth is that not a lot of it was explored by man. High pressures and lack of visibility makes it incredibly complicated to take leisure strolls on the bottom of the ocean, which is why a large portion of them is still very much shrouded in mystery.
Depth Hunter provides you with the chance to spend as much time as you want in the water and witness its fascinating views, while also hunting the most majestic-looking creatures out there and snapping photos of them. The game can be considered a simulator, although the actual gameplay and objectives are rather repetitive and arcade-like, with not much simulation involved.
As a rule of thumb, your missions involve harpooning specific types of fish and catching them for further research, as well as scouring the seabed for treasure and snapping pictures of the requested animals. The repetition starts to become noticeable after the first few objectives, but the fauna is getting more and more varied, which should keep the boredom away for a pretty long time.
Harpooning a fish is not that difficult, since you just have to aim for it and take the shot at the right time. However, you must also pull it toward you in order to catch it, which is definitely easier said than done. The technique involves pulling the line and loosening it at key moments, otherwise you risk losing the catch. The tutorial is very fuzzy and it may take a while to learn the proper technique, although it becomes quite fun after you figure it out.
Lastly, the visual appeal is one of the strong points of the game, given the fact that it looks magnificent most of the time. The bottom of the sea is usually decorated with various rocks and colorful corals, while the fish are expertly modeled and nicely animated to mimic their natural motions. The water effects are also nicely done and there are some post-processing effects mixed in for good measure as well.
In the end, Depth Hunter is the type of game you might want to try out when you feel like going on a peaceful journey, since the atmosphere is very relaxed and calm. However, it can also get quite exciting when your harpoon sticks to something, especially when you reach the truly large ones that require a lot of work to be pulled in.
