Demolisher
Demolish a variety of structures and use explosives to blow up buildings in this fun simulator. #Demolish Building #Wrecking Ball #Destroy Structure #Demolish #Building #Explosives
Sometimes, creating new things is not as fun as destroying them, especially in video games. Thanks to the capabilities of modern computers and the engines developed in the last few years, convincing physics simulations have been created, some of which can easily fool the eye. Hence, it should not come as a surprise to find video games that allow you to blow up structures and watch them crumble in front of your eyes.
Demolisher is not much of a game, but more of an interactive physics engine that allows you to easily let your imagination run wild when it comes to explosives and destruction. Hence, your main goal is to use every method at your disposal to bring down the buildings you are presented with. Not only that, but an editor is included as well, which allows you to create your very own buildings and blow them up as well.
There are no scenarios, objectives, or any kind of purpose to the game other than complete destruction, because you can keep going until every piece of the building has been vanquished from the map. However, you are free to imagine what you like and take it at your own pace, since it is also possible to test some of your structural engineering theories, albeit on a much less accurate scale.
Although the wrecking ball is fun to use in the first few minutes, it is pretty difficult to aim, and the concrete boulders are way too inaccurate for clean demolitions. Whenever you want to take down a building the proper way, you can use finesse and plant explosive charges near the desired structural weak points, which can then be detonated from a distance, although you cannot be damaged anyway.
The physics engine is the most important part of the equation, since that’s what controls the demolitions and lets you enjoy the experience. While it is not entirely realistic, the forces act at least somewhat close to reality and they can trick your brain into thinking that you might see the same thing in real life. The graphics are basic and quite unimpressive, but they do not play a major role in the experience.
In the end, Demolisher can turn out to be much greater than it is, especially if more options are added and the physics are constantly improved to come as close to reality as possible. Hence, although the simulations might require quite the powerful computers in order to be rendered without hiccups, the experience is still very fun and enjoyable.
