Deep Echo Demo
Explore a strange world in this great simulator that puts you in a one-man submarine and sends you deep under the ocean #Underwater exploration #Ocean exploration #Vr ocean #Ocean #Underwater #Explore
Oceans are pretty mysterious even today, given the fact that they are too dangerous for us to explore safely. Naturally, we can send all sorts of robots and cameras, but there’s a huge area to cover when it comes to oceans, so it’s not enough to learn anything meaningful about them. However, judging from what we’ve seen so far, maybe it’s better that we are not fully aware of what lies at those depths.
Deep Echo is a virtual reality experience in which you get to use a submarine to dive underwater and visit an alien world, although this is merely a non-interactive demo at the moment. What this means is that you have no actual control over anything and all can do is turn your head to admire the scenery. That should be enough to get you excited about the final form of the game, however.
There’s not much information regarding the story, nor about anything else. There are cities underwater, and they are quite sizable, but you do not get to meet any inhabitant, nor actually go near them. Hence, all you see is water, faraway landscapes and a few caves you have to pass through along the way.
The submarine you are supposedly piloting can only hold one person, so it would be fun to see it fully functional, maybe with a potent arsenal at your disposal as well. Underwater skirmishes with other ships would be very exciting in VR, at least assuming you do not get too nauseous from the sudden movements.
Speaking of which, the game requires a potent computer in order to run well, especially since it looks so nice. The 3D models are beautiful to look at, and the post-processing effects work really well together to create the underwater illusion. The graphics are pretty customizable too, which comes in handy if you want to tweak a few settings.
While the information presented in Deep Echo is not real, the underwater journeys are pretty exciting, and you can imagine yourself anywhere else along the way. The graphics are great, and so is the soundtrack.
