Death Track: Resurrection Demo
A different kind of racing game, in which you also have to try really hard not to get destroyed by the other racers #Death Track #Death race #Racing game #Death #Track #Resurrection
Whenever books, movies or video games portray the future, war seems to be on the menu every time, regardless of how far away into the future they are looking. The planet is partially destroyed as well, since nuclear fallout is almost guaranteed and almost every city lies in ruins.
Death Track: Resurrection is a racing game that's based on very much the same idea, only it also includes cars into the mix to make matters slightly more interesting. The very same cars can be also equipped with heavy artillery and all sorts of futuristic weapons, which can in handy whenever the opponents try to slip the pole position from you and steal away the big prize.
As far as the background story is concerned, it is all based on the idea that the nations go through a third World War and the planet gets devastated in the process. However, the violence also gave birth to a new type of competition, one that barely has any rules and is definitely fun to watch. Hence, drivers from all over the globe compete against each other in massive races, using everything at their disposal to get rid of the opponents along the way.
In order to survive these races and come out as the winner in the end, you must do your best to equip your vehicle with the best components out there, as well as mount the biggest guns money can buy. To help you with this, the game provides you with a wide selection of upgrades, as well as quite the arsenal, including rocket launchers, heavy machine-guns and plenty of other weapons of mass destruction.
Given the nature of the races, realism is not really accentuated to begin with, although there are a few tricks to handling that sort of keep in tune with reality. Other than that, you can basically blow everything up around you and come out unscathed. The graphics engine is a bit outdated for this day and age, but it's not as bad as to distract you from the race.
In the end, Death Track: Resurrection may suffer from a few flaws when it comes to level design, graphics and gameplay mechanics, but it can be fun to try out for a while, at least until the tracks start to become repetitive and you've seen all the possible scenarios.
