Danse Macabre: Lethal Letters Collector's Edition
Unravel a series of mysterious murders and catch the criminal before it's too late in this riveting hidden object game #Danse macabre #Hidden object #Adventure game #Adventure #Puzzle #Mystery
There are a few hidden object series out there that managed to gain a cult following over the years, mainly thanks to the high-quality content and abundance of puzzles. Danse Macabre is certainly one of them, since it has been going strong for quite a while now. While the stories might not impress those from the non-casual scene, the presentation is indeed quite intriguing.
Danse Macabre: Lethal Letters Collector's Edition is a hidden object adventure game in which you have to investigate the death of a Russian count and find his killer. Obviously, things take a weird turn along the way and the situation becomes less black and white than you initially suspected. Other than that, the gameplay is basically the same as it was in every other episode in the series, except that the puzzles have changed.
The story starts with your character attending a ballet show in Russia, where you must assist a count with a minor problem. However, the said count is murdered in front of your eyes by the ballerina performing on stage, which prompts the actual investigation you’ll be leading for the rest of the game. More clues come to light every now and again, and it is your job to put them together.
As far as the puzzles are concerned, they are usually presented in the form of mini-games you have to tackle in order to move forward. On the lowest difficulty level you have the option to skip these puzzles if you are not able to solve them, although this obviously causes you to miss great portions of the game. Granted, they are not very difficult to begin with, and you can easily check up on the guide to see what your goals are.
Lastly, the graphics are worth a mention as well, because the artists did a great job yet again. Every location you visit is incredibly detailed and full of interesting objects, although nothing is rendered in 3D, obviously. Even the cutscenes are quite nicely done, and the voice acting goes very well with what’s happening on the screen at any given time.
Danse Macabre: Lethal Letters Collector's Edition should be a delight for the fans of the franchise, but it can also be a great choice for newcomers as well. As long as you enjoy puzzles and hidden object scenes, this is one of the best choices you can make.
