Cube Soma-7 provides you with the opportunity to test your brain power when it comes to spatial awareness and critical thinking, thanks to the unique type of puzzles you can tackle. Although it may seem very similar to the popular Tetris game, the idea is a tad more complex and intricate, since it’s not nearly as easy to figure out the solution to these puzzles.

In essence, you are provided with a cube-like shape and you must come up with exactly the same one, only using a variety of smaller pieces to build it. Naturally, this gets exponentially more difficult as the shape grows in complexity, but even the simplest structures require a decent amount of thought. To help you out, each piece is colored differently, although that slowly becomes less helpful once you have already placed a few.

Things get even more difficult once you realize that each piece can usually be rotated in more than a dozen ways and there are multiple layers you can place them in. Once you do manage to somehow achieve the desired shape, you must make sure it is the correct one, by using the analyze function to check its integrity. Once the test is passed, you can consider the puzzle solved.

Visually, the game certainly does not impress, since all you can see are the crude blocks and a touch of color here and there. However, the interface is quite intuitive and easy-to-use, since every function is handy and you do not have to jump through hoops in order to do something. Thus, even those who are not very familiar with computers should be able to work it out, with a little practice.

All things considered, Cube Soma-7’s best trait is the fact that the puzzles come in great numbers and you can even design your own when you run out, thanks to the simple editor provided with the application. This way, you can keep yourself entertained for long periods of time, or at least until you run out of ideas.
