CrazyBoat Demo
Split the waters at dizzying speeds in this arcade boat racing simulator, featuring a variety of tracks and a couple of boat models #Boat racing #Racing game #Arcade racing #Boat #Race #Speed
Racing is all about speed and adrenaline, so it doesn’t really matter if there are motorcycles, cars, or boats involved, as long as the drivers are allowed to go as fast as they want. Danger is always a part of such sports, but safety measures make sure that the accidents can be easily avoided and that injuries are a rare occurrence, at least in the official competitions.
CrazyBoat is not exactly a top-of-the-line video game, but it certainly doesn’t advertise itself to be either. Hence, the premise is quite clear and simple: you must steer your speedboat as well as you can, in order to overtake the other opponents and avoid hitting the obstacles scattered along the tracks. The boat that passes the finish line first after a certain number of laps is declared the winner.
Before you jump into the races, however, you might find it useful to give the training section a chance, although it is rather rudimentary and the game is way too simple and straightforward to need a tutorial. Basically, the training is just a race with no opponents, in which you get to see how the controls work and get acquainted with the traps that await you out on the circuit.
To maintain some level of interest, the game features a few different tracks, which are riddled with traps that slow you down if you happen to hit them. The track assortment is not very wide and you might not perceive the differences most of the time, but it’s nice to see that the developers put a bit of effort in this and created enough content to keep you entertained for longer.
From a technical point of view, there isn’t too much to talk about, given the fact that the visual quality is poor, the music is repetitive and quite annoying at times, while the controls are nothing out of the ordinary, since there are only four keys to talk about. Speaking of which, you need to press the boost key in order to unleash the boat’s maximum power, although there is no limit to how long you can keep the speed surge going.
As you can probably imagine, CrazyBoat does not have what it takes to keep you entertained for more than an hour or so, but there is the potential for it to be a fun hour. If you don’t go into it with high expectations, the arcade racing mechanics can be exactly what you are looking for on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
