Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars Demo
The GDI is figthing NOD yet again, this time because of a new resource that plagues the Earth #Official Demo #Tiberium Wars #Command & Conquer 3 #Command #Conquer #Tiberium
Among the few RTS legends that practically created the genre from the ground up, you can find the Command & Conquer series as well, which revolutionized again and again through titles like Tiberian Sun and Red Alert. Now, the third generation of games is trying to make its parents proud, but there might not be enough substance in its veins to fully manage it.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars tells the story of the not-so-far-away future of the year 2047, when the world is practically engulfed by a strange alien substance, that spreads around the planet and plagues everything it touches. The name of this substance is Tiberium and the GDI plans on containing the threat, by trying to eliminate it completely from the planet.
The NOD, on the other hand, does not fully agree with this approach and would much rather use the toxic element in order to build powerful armies and raise a highly advanced society, although at the cost of infecting the people with the deadly toxin. Kane, who is the leader of the NOD cult, uses this spark to start a war with the GDI, who have been planning his demise for quite some time and weren't exactly disappointed to get a good reason to do so.
When it comes to gameplay, most of you might be familiar with how a Command & Conquer match evolves. This latest installment keeps most of the old mechanics intact, especially when it comes to the way buildings and units are created and queued inside their respective sections. Thus, whenever you need a new building, you can just select it from the list and wait for it to complete building. After that, all you need to do is to select it again and place it in the desired position.
The visual quality, on the other hand, has greatly evolved from the previous titles and now features exquisite 3D models with breathtaking effects scattered all over the game's world. Whenever your units engage the enemy in a fight, the environmental destruction and the incredible particle effects decorating the scene all but distract you from the actual battle, as do the intense and refined sounds used for every action taking place in the game.
In the end, the game at hand may bring back a few elements from way back in the series, but it doesn't manage to revolutionize much of anything, as the previous titles did in their time. Thus, although Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars may not be considered a bad game and it is actually very enjoyable to play, it could have brought much more to the genre.
