Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island Demo
A first-person shooter that takes place in South America and features a lot of visceral action #Code of Honor 2 #Conspiracy Island #Code of Honor #Code #Honor #Conspiracy
Although any kind of army is bound to make men and women more organized, tough and resilient, the French Foreign Legion is legendary for its merciless training sessions and the hardened soldiers that come out of it. Hence, it would be no wonder that these soldiers would be the perfect candidates to take on dangerous missions all over the world and use their skills to resolve various situations.
Even if the first part was not exactly sequel worthy, Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island attempts to build on it and provide the players with a new story, as well as more action and better graphics. However, things had nowhere to go but downward and this second title somehow manages to lower the bar in some aspects, especially when it comes to length and plot.
To start things off, the story revolves around an Island in the French Guyana, called Ile Royale, which is invaded by a group of mercenaries and a ruthless dictator by the name of General Mendoza. The island is home to some sort of nuclear reactor, which is the primary target of the general, since he attempts to steal it and use it to create a powerful weapon of mass destruction. To take care of the problem, a team of highly-trained French Foreign Legion soldiers is sent to the island, including the main character played by you.
Right from the bat, linearity is your biggest enemy, since there is always only one way to get to a certain point and it is usually filled with enemy soldiers, thus eliminating any chance of clever stealth tactics. The levels are all very small and crowded, with barely any originality when it comes to landscapes and environmental details.
Moreover, the shooting is very dull in itself, mainly because the weapons react very weirdly to your input and they certainly do not adhere to any ballistic laws from current physics manuals. To make matters worse, the AI is a disaster as well, lacking any kind of tactical thinking and generally making things incredibly easy for you, regardless of the chosen difficulty level.
Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island does not really have any upsides, not even when it comes to the soundtrack or the graphic quality. Thus, there are very few reasons to recommend the game, unless you are a huge fan of the Foreign Legion and you are willing to ignore the many design mistakes.
