Although the basic mechanics are borrowed from other similar titles, you can find some originality as well, especially when it comes to gameplay and the graphic details.

On the other hand, the originality also comes at a price, since the players act rather strange on the field, due to some awkward animations that feel very scripted and repetitive. The ball itself does not react too realistically in most circumstances, especially not in the case of powerful shots on goal. The same can be said about the goalkeepers, who almost possess the ability to teleport and make some very unlikely saves.

Other than that, the game is quite well built from a technical point of view, since every player has been closely modeled to resemble reality, as is the case for the stadiums as well. The fact that the equipment is the original one and you can see the names of the actual sponsors written on it greatly improves the overall atmosphere.

In the end, Club Football 2005 does not manage to rise to expectations when it comes to gameplay, since there's a very small number of teams available and not enough game modes to take advantage of them. Moreover, the actual mechanics are also a bit sketchy, making it difficult to immerse into the game properly.
