Cloudface

Cloudface is a wonderfully over the top platformer that blends great aesthetics, animations and simple gameplay to deliver an upbeat game like you rarely get to see.

Mr Cloudface is an all important and sharp dressed business man who has a could for a face and a mission to collect all of his documents. He’s got an overwhelmingly positive smile on his face and the fluent manner in which he is animated to walk, jump and crouch is very fun to watch.

Cloudface and the world around him are designed to leave you the impression that you’re controlling the main character in a very colorful and lively cartoon. The mountains have sunglasses and a punk-rock hair style made out of trees, butterflies roam around minding their business and pink fluffy cats roll around and explode when you get too close to them.

Cloudface is built on the principle that a game can be seriously challenging without cutting back on humor. The exploding cats that were previously mentioned do a lot of damage and if you’re not careful you might end up with the smile blown off your face. Since jumping from one place to another is a key mechanic in any platformer, in Cloudface some of them are kind of tricky and require that you use the character’s floating ability.

In essence Cloudface is not a difficult game to play, if anything, the addictive background music makes it extremely relaxing. It’s kind of the game you need to play on a rainy day when everything is just too dull to bare.

After a few seconds of gameplay, you’re probably going to say that it’s a kids game, and it indeed seems to be. Although, Cloudface doesn’t take itself too serious, and regardless of your age, neither should you. Liven up. Play it.
