Turning our planet uninhabitable is our main concern at the moment, given the fact that almost every country is actively trying to reduce its pollution and make the Earth just a tiny bit greener. However, we can easily see a future where nature turns on us and makes most climates difficult to survive in, whether due to severe hurricanes and storms, or simply because the temperatures go off the charts.

Ciel Fledge is an interesting mix of gameplay elements, given the fact that it is in equal parts a visual novel, a simulator and a role-playing game. Thus, the main goal appears to be to raise the main character’s daughter and influence her education along the way. However, there are other things to enjoy along the way too, including combat sequences and a lot of exploration.

To begin with, the story takes place sometime in the future, and humans are no longer able to live on the planet’s surface. Instead, they live on arks high in the clouds, given the fact that some sort of vicious aliens have taken over the ground. As mentioned before, your main objective is to raise your daughter, which is achieved through tasks, activities and jobs.

You can influence your daughter’s evolution by paying attention to her attributes and stats, which can be increased through specific activities and jobs. Thus, certain abilities only become available if you put enough effort into a particular attribute, and the same goes for various pieces of equipment. However, there are exploration, dialog and combat sequences in there as well.

Visually, the game is pretty smooth, especially since it runs up to full-HD resolutions. The environments are pretty detailed as well, regardless of whether you are indoors or outdoors, exploring the dangerous planet below. Naturally, the interface can be a bit daunting at first, and the combat mini-game is pretty tough too, but thankfully the battles can be skipped if you are not in the mood.

All things considered, Ciel Fledge is definitely on the right track at the moment, but it is far from finished. Hence, the combination of gameplay elements is very intriguing and enjoyable, and you can show your support by participating in the Kickstarter campaign.
