Chickens are rarely portrayed as the villain in stories, which is probably because their appearance does not inspire too much fear into anyone, apart from maybe a few worms. Chicken Invaders 4: Ultimate Omelette Easter Edition is part of the fourth title in the series and it revolves around the endless conflict between the human race and the evil chickens, which are planning yet another invasion, this time more determined than ever. This special edition also features the Easter bunny armada joining in on the invasion, although there are no conclusive answers as to why the fluffy rodents took this decision.

While the game plays out in very much the same way as the original release, there are some differences when it comes to gameplay, because the bunnies add a bit of suspense to the situation and they certainly make things more difficult for you. Thus, beside the usual chicken formations and explosive eggs, huge bunny spaceships are also a concern this time around.

As far as your role in the upcoming invasion is concerned, you are still in charge of a spaceship and you must use every weapon at your disposal in order to dispatch with the chicken as efficiently as possible. Naturally, you can pick up a variety of power-ups along the way and upgrade your attack, in order to shoot faster or do more damage with every blast.

Speaking of power-ups, there are also many other things you can pick-up and make your life easier, or even gain more lives and increase your chances of survival. While most of them are dropped by the enemies you manage to put down, there are also certain presents that just randomly appear throughout the levels, although you need to be careful chasing them, since they can lead you straight into the flock of chickens and get you surrounded.

On a closing note, Chicken Invaders 4: Ultimate Omelette Easter Edition manages to keep its appeal and extend the gameplay a bit, while also bringing the holiday cheer. Thus, even if the changes may not affect the actual game mechanics too much, the title is certainly every bit as fun as the previous episodes.
