Chess Mentor 3 Demo
Learn how to play chess and how to properly assess the board with this helpful game #Chess Mentor #Chess trainer #Chess teacher #Chess #Mentor #Teacher
Playing chess at a professional level is a pretty difficult thing to do, especially if you do not start training from a very young age. The sheer amount of strategies and moves you must watch out for and learn at the same time is staggering, which makes it that much more important to be able to come up with solutions on the spot, rather than try to memorize everything about the game.
Chess Mentor 3 is not exactly a chess game, since it does not feature the option to play full matches against other players, or the computer for that matter. In essence, it is actually an interactive tutorial, which takes you from the basics of the game, all the way to the advanced notions you might have to employ in competitions, or against experienced players.
As previously mentioned, the tutor assumes that you know nothing about chess when you start off, which means that you also get to learn how every piece on the board moves, their value, and how to open a match. However, as you progress through the lessons, the challenges get that much more brutal, since they force you to think and come up with the right solution every time.
Since you will be busy trying to grasp the chess concepts and apply them during the presented scenarios, you might not have time to deal with the interface as well. Thankfully, the developers made sure that it is as straightforward as possible, so you won’t even notice it most of the time. It provides you with enough options as well, in case you want to change something about the lessons, or adjust the difficulty settings.
Visually, there’s not a lot to talk about, given the fact that the boards are classic 2D representations and the pieces are simple shapes as well. You can choose between different layouts and designs, on the other hand, but they are all rather bland and unimpressive. The purpose of the game is to teach you chess, however, so it doesn’t really matter how the board looks anyway.
When it’s all said and done, Chess Mentor 3 takes it slow enough to accommodate everyone, regardless of any previous experience with chess or computers. Hence, in case you are interested in the sport and you cannot afford a tutor to guide you, this alternative is certainly worth a shot.
