Chasing the Stars Demo

Although it’s going to be a very long time until it becomes something people should consider, colonizing other planets is certainly going to be necessary in the future. On the other hand, there are many reasons to reach other planets, including finding resources and expanding humanity’s influence in the vastness of space. Until it becomes a reality, books and video games are what we can use to fuel our imagination.

Chasing the Stars is an interactive visual novel in which you play the role of a young man by the name of Tirs Abril, who dreams of going to another planet. The game is a mix of adventure and dating sim elements, although the only relationships are between men. You can also make choices along the way and influence the course of the story as  you see fit.

Tirs has always dreamed of going to space and visit other planets, and it would appear that he now has the chance to do so. The story revolves around a professor by the name of Marc Rossell, who is working on a project to terraform another planet. Naturally, Tirs gets a chance to be involved in the project, but things do not go as smoothly as he plans.

The other side of the game focuses on finding someone for Tirs to love, and you can do that by interacting with various characters along the way. In short, there are three different love interests you can pursue, each one of which changes the course of the story. Speaking of which, there are multiple endings you can reach, depending on what route you pick along the way.

As far as the graphics are concerned, you shouldn’t expect an awful lot in this regard, given the static backgrounds and the simple character design. However, the quality of the artwork is definitely up there, especially since the hand-drawn characters are very nice. The soundtrack is not too bad either, but it gets repetitive after a while.

The story is probably the only original thing about Chasing the Stars, but the experience as a whole is going to be fairly enjoyable once the project is complete. You can help the developers by participating in their Kickstarter campaign.
