Searching for treasure might seem like a childish thing to do, but then again some of those who go on such a quest manage to find something eventually. In fact, that’s what archaeology is, after all, since not all of those in the field manage to discover ancient ruins or priceless artifacts. However, they get to help with our understanding of ancient cultures.

Chase for Adventure: The Lost City is a time management adventure game in which you play the role of an archaeologist by the name of Anna Windsdoe, who’s on a quest to find her missing father. If you are familiar with the genre even a little bit it should be easy to get started with this one as well, because most of the gameplay mechanics are more or less the same.

Each map contains a handful of objectives you must accomplish in order to move on, none of which are particularly difficult. There are multiple difficulty modes to choose from, including a relaxed mode that removes all time limits and allows you to play at your own pace. It gets significantly more boring if you disable the time constraints, on the other hand.

Most of your time is spent gathering resources from all over the map and repairing things in order to clear the way. It’s the same thing level after level, but the map layout changes every time, and so do the objectives. You can also make use of power-ups to gain certain bonuses, such as double the resources you gather, or increase the speed of your workers for a few seconds.

As for the graphics, they’re nothing to write home about, but the colorful maps are quite detailed and full of interesting things. They can get repetitive after a while, but the missions keep you too busy to notice that. In addition there’s a soothing soundtrack playing in the background as well, which makes it easier to relax and have fun on your journey.

Chase for Adventure: The Lost City is not a revolutionary game, but then again it doesn’t need to be in order to keep you busy for a few hours. Hence, if you enjoy the genre, then you should find what you want in this game as well.
