One thing that’s for certain when it comes to the video games industry is that platformers are never going away, no matter how much the graphics continue to advance. In essence, the challenge is just too enjoyable ever to get boring, especially if the developers manage to polish the gameplay mechanics to a shine and provide the players with a tough, but fair experience.

Caveman Warriors is a 2D action-platformer that challenges you to overcome a variety of obstacles and use four different characters with unique skills to defeat enemies and navigate tricky levels. To make things even better, the game also allows up to four people to play in co-op on the same computer, which makes the adventure that much more engaging and fun.

Each one of the four characters has a predilection toward a certain type of weapon, as well as a unique way to deal with enemies. Some prefer large weapons and brute force, while others move quickly and strike from a distance. Naturally, their powers balance out while playing in co-op, especially if the players figure out how to make best use of their abilities.

Combat abilities and weapons are not the only things that differ when it comes to the four heroes. Hence, they also have useful abilities that are required to pass certain obstacles, as is the case with Liliana and her spear that can serve as a ledge when you need to access higher platforms. In case you play by yourself, on the other hand, you can easily just switch between characters at any time with the simple press of a button.

Lastly, the graphics are worth a mention as well, because they are certainly polished and enjoyable, especially when it comes to colors, animations and the overall world design. Each level is unique, and the characters look pretty neat as well. More variety is promised for the full game, on the other hand, and there are even a few other mechanics planned for future versions.

In the end, it’s obvious that the developers really gave it their best while developing Caveman Warriors, so we can only hope that the full version is going to be at least as much fun as the demo. However, until then you can lend the developers a hand by participating in the game’s Kickstarter campaign.
