As anyone knows, gambling's hometown is definitely Las Vegas USA, because that's where you can find the most extravagant casinos in the world, as well as the wealthiest gamblers, since it costs quite a bit to be allowed to lose money in such classy places.

Casino Empire is a tycoon game in which your purpose is to reach the peak of success by developing a casino into a profitable business, with the help of wealthy high rollers and various other methods of entertainment that cost money. Just like most such games, there is a story in the background explaining the reason behind your need for big profits, using one of the biggest cliches in the book.

Hence, one of your relatives owns a small slots joint somewhere in Vegas, but he is not too successful and his life's work is about to go out of business. However, he does manage to save himself for a while, by borrowing a lot of money from the local mob, along with dreams of turning his establishment into a luxurious venue. Naturally, everything fails and he asks you to help him, in order to repay his debt to the mafia and actually develop a successful casino in the progress.

The career mode is basically a series of missions that takes you through a variety of different casinos and challenges you to obtain a certain profit, by attracting more customers. To do this, you need to provide them with a satisfactory selection of gambling tables and enough beverages to keep them happy, as well as various other venues that can bring a bit of profit on the side.

As far as the graphics are concerned, the isometric view is quite cozy and the objects are nicely modeled, even if the environments can get a bit repetitive after you see most of the things you can buy. On the other hand, the characters animations are a bit lazy, especially when you consider the fact that the casino is usually full of people basically doing the same thing over and over again.

In the end, tycoon enthusiasts might find what they were looking for in Casino Empire, although the simulation itself is not exactly accurate and there is little you can do to actually influence the profits, other than to buy more blackjack tables. However, it can be quite entertaining in the beginning, at least until you see everything the game has to offer.
