Captain Quack: I Pity the Stool is a funny arcade game in which your goal is to annoy people and take revenge on them for daring to trespass on your territory and messing with the integrity of your pond. Obviously, poop is your main offensive weapon, but there are a few other solutions at your disposal, not to mention the fact that you also have to solve puzzles every now and again.

The gameplay is a pretty wild mix of arcade shooting sequences, puzzle solving and a few interesting mini-games, although it might take you a few minutes to figure things out. Thankfully, the game provides you with a tutorial that teaches you the basics and allows you to familiarize yourself with the controls. After that, you can start annoying people and put them on the run.

Tapping is a very important concept to master, because almost every puzzle or action sequence requires you to click wildly on various objects. You can check which items can be tapped by using the duck’s ear horn, after which you are usually required to perform a rapid succession of clicks in order to obtain the desired effect. The game is quite fast-paced, so you might need to improve your reaction time a little bit.

The controls are responsive and accurate, even if the duck moves a tad too slowly when you are in puzzle mode. This forces you to think ahead, on the other hand, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing. As for the graphics, the colorful style may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it goes great with the general atmosphere of the game.

In the end, Captain Quack: I Pity the Stool is quite amusing and addictive, not to mention challenging every now and again. Thus, it can provide you with quite a bit of fun, and you can reward the developers by helping with their Kickstarter campaign.
