Brutal Wars
A turn-based strategy game in which you get to clear entire maps of enemies at once, using a variety of units and weapons #Brutal Wars #Turn-based strategy #TBS game #Unit #Military #Non-stop
Strategy games are very relaxed and easy to play, mainly due to the fact that they require a lot of logic and reasoning, rather than good reflexes and a sharp eye. However, this only works for turn-based strategy games, since real-time strategy titles can sometimes be just as alert and demanding as shooters, even more so, considering the fact that there are usually hundreds of units out on the battlefield that need to be controlled at the same time.
Brutal Wars is the type of game that may not have what it takes to make you play for hours at end, but it is the type of game that keeps returning for more. Due tot he fact that it is technically a small-scale TBS, it does not pressure you when it comes to the strategy you choose, nor does it require an accurate control of your troops out on the battlefield.
There is even a story to explain the events unfolding on the screen, but it obviously did not receive enough attention, because it is not important anyway. However, it all revolves around a general called to protect his country from the invading forces of a brutal enemy, which, as you might have guessed already, happens to be you. In order to become a legendary general and take full advantage of your units, you must win all the scenarios that constitute the main campaign of the game.
In case you are not familiar with how TBS mechanics work, every players gets his turn to make a move, which usually means that you get to move every unit once, or use it to perform an attack. The same is true for the game at hand, since you can either move a unit across the battlefield, or use its action points to attack the nearby enemy troops.
As far as the graphics are concerned, it is worth noting that the title has been developed with the mobile users in mind, which means that the interface is a bit clumsy and unintuitive on the PC. The units appear very small on a modern computer screen, which makes it very difficult to click on them, let alone coordinate their movement across the entire battlefield.
Brutal Wars can indeed be quite merciless when it comes to the strategy part, but the poor interface make it very difficult to enjoy the title on the PC. However, the fact that you can transfer the saves between your pocket PC and your computer is definitely a nice touch, especially if you happen to own both devices and you enjoy playing on both of them.
