Break a Leg is an arcade game in which you have to both perform daring jumps on top of skyscrapers, as well as reach the finish line as fast as you can, in order to get your own place in the hall of fame and have your score measured against everyone else. The jumping itself is possible thanks to some sort of anti-gravity platforms, which push you high up in the air, toward the next rooftop with another platform on it.

The gameplay mechanics are easy to learn, yet they are quite difficult to master. Coordination is important, because you have a small degree of control when it comes to slowing down or speeding up after a jump.

Due to the fact that the action takes place in some sort of futuristic city populated by enormous skyscrapers, with the ground nowhere to be seen from their rooftops, falling is a certain death sentence. You respawn at the previous checkpoint, though, albeit by losing your advantage and wasting precious seconds. While you are up in the air, it is also possible to perform some tricks and stunts, in order to impress an invisible crowd.

The high score board is probably the most important piece of the puzzle, since that’s where you can see your progress. In order to actively see how fast your past runs were, you can activate the ghost run and see yourself during the previous record time. On the other hand, this can put additional stress on you, since you are constantly aware that every little mistake or miscalculation matters.

All things considered, Break a Leg has a certain allure to it, which makes it difficult to put down once you taste its particular flavor of excitement and the adrenaline. Running against a human opponent makes matters that much more interesting, since the stakes are higher and you can at least have fun with a friend, even if you lose.
