Bigfoot Evolution: French Classics Demo
Tackle tricky off-road terrains behind the wheel of huge monster trucks and compete against the other drivers for the podium #Bigfoot Evolution #French Classics #Monster truck #Bigfoot #Evolution #French
Unlike regular races on nice tarmac tracks, off-road competitions provide the audience with a far more exciting prospect, especially when the vehicles involved are capable of tackling even the roughest terrains. Based on that assumption, it is only natural that monster trucks should be at the top of the food chain in this regard, judging by their immense wheels, powerful engines and resilience to damage.
Bigfoot Evolution: French Classics is a game that allows you to partake in such activities as a driver, in order to handle the big machines by yourself and have fun trying to avoid ditches and trees. Due to the arcade nature of the title, you should definitely not expect any kind of realism, especially when it comes to the vehicles themselves and their behavior out on the track.
Although there are multiple game modes to try out, the main one revolves around the classic checkpoint system, which challenges you to go through a series of gates scattered around an open map, in a pre-established order. Naturally, there are other drivers attempting this at the same time, which makes the races that much more exciting and difficult at the same time.
On the other hand, there are some major annoyances riddling the gameplay as well, some of which might be a tad too much to stomach for some. As an example, it would appear that the developers could not decide whether to make the title a simulator or not and they oscillated back and forth a few times, including some weird elements with each approach. Hence, while everything about it screams arcade, the trucks are unable to climb small hills, or they do so in a very slow and annoying manner, which quickly gets frustrating.
Moreover, the vehicles somehow manage to ignore inertia and just stick to the ground no matter what, until they don't. When that happens, they fly off in a weird manner and they hilariously spin a few times, although it is only funny the first time around. What's worse is the fact that the camera itself flips and jiggles as the vehicle rotates, which makes it very disorienting and annoying, given the fact that the maps are very uninspired and you can never truly know which direction should you take.
There aren't too many good reasons to get yourself acquainted with Bigfoot Evolution: French Classics too well, because it has a habit to disappoint from the first few minutes and it certainly doesn't grow on you over time. On the other hand, it can also be a good source of entertainment, but definitely not in the way it was intended by the developers.
