BadLands RoadTrip Demo
Hunt down robots in this first-person shooter with RPG elements and an open world to explore #First-person shooter #Adventure game #Exploration game #Shooter #Adventure #Badlands
Robots are usually the bad guys in movies and video games, given the fact that most of them go haywire and try to destroy the human who built them. Naturally, fighting androids is anything but easy, especially since they are designed to handle quite a beating. On the other hand, video games allow you to tackle such problems with powerful weapons and all sorts of special abilities.
BadLands RoadTrip is an upcoming first-person shooter with sandbox and RPG elements, in which you have to stop a robot apocalypse from destroying the world. The game also features an interesting weapon design that takes advantage of a realistic physics engine to make the shooting aspect much more challenging and fun. Even so, the project is still in a very early stage at the moment, so expect a few bugs.
As mentioned before, the action takes place sometime in the future, and the robot apocalypse has just begun. The full game promises full character customization and an RPG leveling system, but in the demo at hand you start playing right away with a pre-existing character. It will also be possible to customize your weapons over the course of the game.
It must be mentioned that it might take a while to get used to the shooting mechanics, especially when you are using two weapons at once. In the beginning, the guns can only hold one bullet before they need to be reloaded, which is quite the pain. To make things even worse, you have two different reload buttons for the weapons, so it’s very annoying when you miss your shots.
As far as the graphics are concerned, they could definitely use some work, especially in the world design department. Enemies look rather silly as well, mainly because of the clunky animations, but these things can be fixed by the time the full version is released. The controls could use some work as well, because they can be rather annoying sometimes.
All things considered, BadLands RoadTrip is rather rough around the edges at this point, but it can definitely be improved in the future. Thus, you can show your support by participating in the developer’s Kickstarter campaign.
