Armobiles Demo
Drive as fast as you can and avoid being destroyed by enemy turrets in this arcade racing game #Arcade race #Racing game #Driving game #Race #Racing #Car
Arcade racing games are all about having some fun, while generally disregarding things like inertia, gravity, and momentum. Even if they might not adhere to real world standards, these games can still be incredibly entertaining and popular, as it can be clearly seen in franchises like Need for Speed, or FlatOut.
Armobiles goes a tad further than the aforementioned games and it includes some futuristic elements as well, so neither the cars nor the environments look anything like they do today. In essence, the main goal is to pass through a number of checkpoints in a specified time frame, but things get much more exciting along the way, given all the rockets and explosions that are part of the race.
As such, the tracks are littered with turrets that shoot on sight, using anything from large caliber bullets, to missiles that can seriously damage your vehicle. Speaking of which, each hit you take brings you closer to the game over screen, because the race ends if your hit point bar reaches zero. This applies for self-inflicted damage as well, because you can harm the car by running into walls too.
However, there are medikits you can pick up along the way which restore your hit points, although they are pretty rare and you shouldn’t count on them. The game rewards you if you manage to run your opponents over and eliminate them from the race. On the other hand, they can do the same to you, so you must really watch your back at all times.
When it comes to visual quality, the game certainly does not excel in any way, but it looks pretty nice when you consider its age and the size of the package. An adrenaline-infused soundtrack keeps the blood flowing and your nerves stretched, thanks to the angry beats and the nice rhythms playing in the background.
All things considered, Armobiles is not the type of game you’ll remember for life, but it can make a few hours of a weekend quite enjoyable. It comes packed with a split-screen mode, which means that you can enjoy it with a friend on the same computer and share a keyboard like in the good old times.
