Visual novels can either focus on telling a story to their audiences from start to finish, or they can include multiple routes and alternate endings to give the players a chance to participate in the action. The latter also increases the game’s replay value, because most people would enjoy going through the story again in order to see what happens when they choose a different path.

Apron Academy is a visual novel/dating sim in which you play the role of a young man trying to get a job. However, he scores much higher than he ever hoped, especially since he doesn’t even try very hard. In short, it’s a pretty silly game, but it’s perfect if you want a harmless dating sim to occupy your spare time with, or if you are in the mood for a light story to keep you busy.

Speaking of which, you play the role of a guy by the name of Tyler Schmidt, who still lives with his parents and has yet to find a job. Although he is quite the intelligent fellow, he just doesn’t apply himself at all, which is why he is still a burden for his parents. However, everything changes when his uncle offers him a job, one that takes him far away and even involves him into a secret operation.

The operation in question is called Operation: APRON, and the squad is formed out of five dedicated women. Naturally, you have the option to romance each one of them, depending on which one you find the most attractive. Alternatively, you can just try them all to see how the story changes and find out more about every character in the game.

As for the graphics, the artwork is quite striking, especially when it comes to character design and the quality of the drawings.The same can be said about the backgrounds, although it would seem like some of the objects have been plastered on top with total disregard for taste or harmony. It’s not always the case, but it’s quite obvious when it is.

Even if Apron Academy doesn’t feature a very complex story, it can still keep you occupied for a while, especially since there are so many romance options to choose from. The characters are intriguing enough to merit a bit of investigation.
