Fighter jet pilots go through long and intense training sessions in order to be granted the access to the most advanced aircraft in the world, since they are usually worth millions of dollars. The technological capabilities are also quite otherworldly as well, which makes them unlike anything else out there, and thus perfect to strike at the enemy when he is least expecting it.

All Aspect Warfare: Angle of Attack is an action-oriented flight simulator in which you get to fly some very interesting ships and take part in intense skirmishes and dogfights on other planets. The arcade nature of the game is quite obvious, but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy it, or try to have some fun while shooting lasers at the other alien ships patrolling the skies on your tail.

The background story talks about the unending war between the Gammulans and the Terrans, which has been going on for years. Intriguing as it might sound, the plot is a bit more restrained, given the fact that the game is actually part of a series and most of the conflict has been explained in other titles. Thus, the campaign at hand revolves around the assault on the LV-115 planet, featuring the GALCOM forces on the offensive against the Gammulans.

The game provides you with quite the satisfying diversity when it comes to how you want to approach each mission and the ship you get to pilot, although it all resumes to who can shoot the enemy ship faster. There are a few fighter models to pick from, all of which provide you with a different set of abilities, not to mention the fact that you have to approach each one of them with a different mindset when it comes to controls.

Speaking of which, you can use the keyboard and the mouse to control the ships, although it is rather counter-intuitive to do so. Joysticks and gamepads are also supported, on the other hand, which should make the job a bit easier. Graphics-wise, everything is in three dimensions, even inside the cockpit where all the buttons and the switches can be admired. The alien worlds are rather boring and unimpressive on the other hand, since there’s is nothing else beside a few buildings and a lot of grass to look at.

In the end, All Aspect Warfare: Angle of Attack may not be worthy of any awards, but the gameplay mechanics are solid enough to keep you entertained for a few hours. There are plenty of ships to try out, with many possible combinations when it comes to special abilities and weapons.
