The Sigma Team is a developer that decided to find out how many enemies, bodies and guns can you fit in one game, while still managing to stick to a coherent storyline. After it worked quite nicely the first time, two more spin-offs followed, in order to push the idea further and offer the players a lot more content, as well as better graphics and improved gameplay mechanics.

Alien Shooter Gold Pack is the product of all that hard work and it basically contains three games, namely Alien Shooter, Alien Shooter 2 – Reloaded and Zombie Shooter. This way, you can see the evolution for yourself and also follow the story from one title to the other, although the last game goes on a different path, given that the enemies are now zombies, rather than aliens.

In case you are not familiar with the style used by this series of games, they are all using the same isometric perspective to render the environments and everything that moves around them. In order to control the character and splatter the floors with guts, all you have to do is use the classic WASD keys and the mouse to aim, which is as simple and intuitive as it can get, while also being highly efficient.

One other thing that makes the gameplay exciting is the fact that your character can gain experience as it kills more and more creatures, which can be used to level-up and improve various skills. Thus, you can choose to increase your weapon accuracy and make better use of every bullet, or you can opt for more hitpoints and be able to resist more damage before you succumb to a gruesome death.

And death will happen more often than you think, especially if you are bold enough to toy with the difficulty slider a bit. The challenging levels are the main attraction of the series, however, since it can also be very rewarding to find yourself alive after ten minutes of continuous shooting and dozens of narrow escapes.

In the end, Alien Shooter Gold Pack is a great choice if you are on the lookout for a different kind of experience and you do not mind having to perform the same task over and over again. The large collection of weapons, different character paths and insane difficulty level should keep you occupied for a very long time.
