Agon Episode 3: Pirates of Madagascar Demo
Unravel the mystery behind an ancient tribe and a pack of blood-thirsty sea pirates #Agon Episode 3 #Pirates of Madagascar #Point and click #Agon #Pirate #Tribe
Although you can still find a few if you are brave enough, isolated islands are no longer as widespread as they once were. Technology and modern times caught up with most of them and they now serve as resorts for people to spend their vacation on. On the other hand, things were much more pristine back at the beginning of the 20th century.
Agon Episode 3: Pirates of Madagascar is a point-and-click adventure game that provides you with insight on what it would be like to set foot on such an island. Although the production is rather sloppy and it might take a while to get used to the interface, you can still enjoy the journey and pretend that you are an explorer, especially since the environments are quite pristine.
As far as the story is concerned, you play the role of Professor Hunt, who’s searching for a board game thought to have mystical properties. However, the island he stumbles upon is inhabited by a fishing tribe, who mistake him for a pirate. Naturally, this means that you must figure out the riddle concerning the pirates and gain the trust of the tribesmen in order to enter their village and search for the artifact.
The game uses a first-person view to provide you with a more personal perspective on the island, which comes in handy during the exploration bits. However, since this is still a point-and-click title, you are not allowed to free roam and you can only jump from location to location. On the other hand, the camera can be rotated 360 degrees, so you can at least get the illusion of freedom.
Speaking of which, the visual quality is quite decent, especially since the characters are fully animated and three-dimensional, even if the rest of the scenery is pre-rendered. Unfortunately, the voice acting is clearly not done by professionals, which is mostly annoying in the case of the main character, who sounds incredibly boring and dull most of the time.
When it’s all said and done, Agon Episode 3: Pirates of Madagascar may not be a masterpiece, but it can make you happy for a while. The atmosphere is quite welcoming and the environments are detailed enough to make you daydream.
