Adam and Eve: The Game - Chapter 1 Demo
Help Adam navigate all sorts of obstacles in this 2D platformer featuring a religious theme #2d platformer #Adam and eve #Exploration platformer #Platformer #Sidescroller #Action
The story of Adam and Eve has been retold in a variety of different ways over the years, which means that pretty much everyone should be aware of it. It’s quite the simple tale as well, given the fact that it’s pretty short and it features a quick plot twist a few paragraphs after the introduction. However, that doesn’t mean one cannot come up with a new idea based on this classical story.
Adam and Eve: The Game - Chapter 1 is a 2D platformer in which you play the role of Adam as you jump over gaps, avoid spikes and generally try to keep away from all sorts of dangers. The gameplay mechanics are about as classic as they can get for the genre, but they are a bit stiff in some regards, especially if you are used to much more responsive controls and more special features.
The story starts when Adam wakes up to find that his partner, Eve, has gone missing overnight. Thus, he goes on a journey to find and rescue her from whatever danger she might be in. These events take place before Eve eats the forbidden fruit, on the other hand, so it’s quite unclear why the characters feel fear, or why is heaven full of terrible things that can hurt them.
There’s not much combat involved yet, which means that your only concerns are trying not to touch all the spikes, avoiding the enemies and generally staying away from all the holes and pits. The game features no checkpoints or save files, which means that the game over screen forces you to start playing from the beginning every time. Thankfully, at least you have multiple lives to spare, and you can get more by collecting fruit.
Speaking of which, the only other thing you can do besides jumping around is collecting all sorts of fruit, all of which technically help you win extra lives. Some grant you additional points, while others actually subtract them, although it’s pretty simple to figure out which ones are which. On the other hand, the graphics quality is quite mediocre, which is why it’s the huge loading times are baffling.
All things considered, Adam and Eve: The Game - Chapter 1 certainly needs a lot of polishing, especially in the gameplay department. Not only that, but the controls are somewhat annoying as well, while the loading times make no sense at all.
