Cube
Put your shooter skills to the test with this old-school multiplayer FPS, featuring plenty of maps and epic #First-person shooter #Multiplayer FPS #Cube FPS #Cube #FPS #Shooter
Old-school multiplayer shooters revolved a very simple idea: frag as many enemies as you possibly can. The rest of the gameplay mechanics were built around this concept, which is why games like Quake and Half-Life managed to remain popular for years to come, not to mention the various mods they spawned. However, there were other titles out there as well, with just as much potential as the legendary games published by huge studios.
Cube was designed to come as close to the triple-A alternatives and it features most of the same elements, including fast-paced gameplay mechanics and the emphasis on fragging. Hence, all you have to do is choose a map from the hefty pool of available ones and start shooting, together with your friends or people from all over the world.
In fact, the list of included maps is long enough to satisfy everyone and keep you occupied for long periods of time. Not all of them are brilliant, but it’s all about changing the environment every now and again, to avoid getting bored. Moreover, each map is littered with various power-ups and ammunition for your weapons, so players always have to keep an eye on that armor bonus, or the precious health packs.
As we all know, no one wants to deal with control problems or glaring gameplay flaws, because there’s nothing more annoying than being killed because of a technical issue. Thankfully, the game at hand does not suffer from such problems, which makes the experience that much more pleasant. Hence, the controls are always on point and the crosshair responds accurately to your input, although you still need to put a bit of dedication into the fine art of fragging.
Given the fact that the game is quite old and built to rival with similar titles from a long time ago, it should not come as a surprise that the graphics are very basic and unimpressive nowadays. While they are in 3D and some of the maps actually look pretty nice, the engine is still based on ancient technology. However, the upside is that the game comes with extremely low system requirements, which makes it perfect even for outdated computers.
Although Cube may not turn too many heads nowadays, it can still provide you with countless hours of fun and entertainment. Not only that, but it also brings back pleasant memories from the Quake era, and it’s been a long time since the last time that happened.
