A-maze-ing Treasures 3D Demo
Navigate intricate mazes and try to find the requested objects while not getting lost #A-maze-ing Treasures #Maze game #Puzzle game #Treasure #Maze #Puzzle
Mazes are always intriguing and attractive, especially if treasure and riches are involved in the process. However, they can also be frustrating and annoying, because it’s not always easy to navigate them and get out in time. The challenge is what matters, on the other hand, so you can at least enjoy the thrill of having to find your way out of a death trap using nothing but wits and a strong sense of direction.
A-maze-ing Treasures 3D is about as mature and complicated as the title itself, because there is nothing worth bothering with when it comes to the actual game. Everything is about as basic as it can get, which includes the mazes, the graphics engine, the music, and the underlying gameplay mechanics, which were two decades behind even when the game was released.
To start off with, the main idea behind the game is to get out of a particular maze in a predetermined amount of time, otherwise you have to take it from the top. However, you must also pick up some items along the way, which provide you with additional points and money. Obviously, you cannot use these points for anything, because the ‘treasure’ is there just to add more game time without a lot of work involved from the designers.
You cannot change the control scheme, the resolution, or anything else for that matter, because the game has no options panel. Not only that, but you cannot even perform a basic Alt-Tab operation, because you automatically quit the application by doing so. The movement is done in fixed increments and it takes you quite a while to turn around, regardless of whether you use the keyboard or a dedicated controller.
The graphics are by far the most annoying thing at the game, however, because little-to-no effort went into making them look decent. The same three textures are used all throughout the maze, while the engine is not actually 3D, but a forced illusion that uses 2D images to make it look like you are in a three-dimensional environment. For some reason, the developers forced themselves to create this mess from scratch, instead of using one of the already available free or paid engines out there.
All things being equal, there’s more fun involved in being stuck in an actual labyrinth than playing A-maze-ing Treasures 3D, given all of its issues. Hence, unless you got tricked into downloading the game without prior knowledge, there are no reasons to subject yourself or your computer to this.
