3D RC Racing

RC cars are more than just children toys, due to their immense potential for modification and the significant amount of power they can output in some cases. Hence, there are those who design extremely fast and complicated RC cars in order to compete with them, or just to test the limits of technology when it comes to battery or even gasoline-powered engines.

3D RC Racing is a game that allows you to enjoy the experience of playing with RC cars without having to run after them or worry about crashing them into walls, while also providing you with a large selection of tracks. Coupled with an omnipresent eagle-eye camera and a simple control scheme, the game should be both fun and easy to handle, especially for those who are accustomed with the classic racing game setup.

However, the big difference is the fact that you can use an actual RC controller to steer the cars in the game, in order for you to get more comfortable with the layout and learn how to apply the same techniques on real RC cars. A keyboard can also be easily employed instead and the experience should not differ to much from any other similar title, other than the fact that there is no tail camera option.

Although there is a hefty list of tracks already available when you first start the game, it is also possible to create your own from scratch, using the built-in editor. This way, you can test your wildest ideas and even devise various testing platforms for the cars, such as straight lines to see how fast they can go when they do not have to break for corners. Naturally, there is a limited amount of space inside the available locations, but you can integrate a variety of objects as well, such as bridges.

Visually, the game does not really impress, but it does look good enough not to be an eye sore and the cars are quite detailed, once you zoom in close enough. Speaking of which, the camera controls are rather difficult to use and largely ineffective, because zooming in even a little makes it impossible to see the upcoming turns, due to the lack of a rotate function.

In the end, 3D RC Racing can be thoroughly enjoyed for quite some time, which is thanks to the included editor and the simple track creation tool. However, it could have used a bit more work when it comes to the camera and the visual quality, since the view is often blocked by spectators, or you are basically unable to see the upcoming track due to the horrible camera angle.
