Explore a colorful island and take in the pixelated scenery in this first-person walking simulator #Walking simulator #Exploration game #Adventure game #Adventure #Exploration #Walking
Even the simplest games have the potential to keep you playing for hours on end, especially if they feature a gorgeous world to explore. Hence, walking simulators are pretty popular lately, especially since modern tools allow developers to prototype their ideas in record time and release their products on multiple platforms at once, without considerably longer development times.
mura toka is a first-person exploration game in which you get the chance to explore a wonderful pixelated island and examine all the interesting structures found on it. There is a day/night cycle as well, so the scenery changes as you keep playing, although the game world is fairly small. On the other hand, it can be the perfect way to relax after a hard day and treat your eyes with something colorful.
The island of mura toka is mostly covered by trees, and it’s worth noting that the adventure starts at night. This can make it a tad difficult to navigate the environments, because the darkness is pretty thick and the pixelated graphics are not helping either. Thankfully, the environments are not complex enough for you to get stuck or lose your way due to the darkness.
One of the game’s issues is the fact that you move too slowly, even if you hold the Shift key down in order to sprint. Since there is usually not much to look at unless you reach a structure, it can get a tad annoying after a while. On the other hand, this depends on your attitude, because the whole point is to relax and go for a virtual walk, so the movement speed should not be an issue.
As far as the graphics are concerned, they are certainly colorful, but at mentioned before, the pixelated environments are a tad difficult to make out in the darkness. Things get better once the daylight rolls in, and you can truly take in the scenery with the sun shining on the island. The soundtrack is very calming as well, and the sound effects help with the atmosphere too.
Mura toka has all the makings of a relaxing game, especially if you want something simple to pass the time with. It’s also pretty short, on the other hand, and the slow movement speed is a bad way to artificially lengthen the game’s life.
