Zombies Vs Berserk
Protect a small village from a zombie invasion in this first-person shooter with survival elements #Zombie shooter #First-person shooter #Survival game #Survival #Zombie #Shooter
Zombie flicks are anything but original nowadays, given the fact that there are hundreds of movies, books and video games out there that tackle the subject. Some have managed to bring a few new elements to the table, while others simply tried to take advantage of the theme’s popularity in order to earn an easy dollar. As it happens, survival shooters seem to be the most popular choices for developers.
Zombies Vs Berserk is a first-person shooter in which you are challenged to defend a small town from hordes of undead monsters, as well as gather as much money as you can in order to upgrade your weapons. There are no original elements at work here, so don’t expect engaging new ideas, but you can still have moderate amounts of fun with the game.
To begin with, you start with a simple katana and a bow, both of which are fairly weak against the undead monsters. The sword has to be swung at least seven or eight times in order to kill a zombie, which is way too much for a survival game that throws a lot of enemies at you. Thankfully, each kill rewards you with money, and you can use the money to buy new weapons.
These weapons are not particularly impressive, given the fact that they include an axe and a fire katana, but at least they deal more damage per hit. Not much else changes along the way, which means that boredom is a real threat to the overall experience. It would be nice if multiple enemy types were included, or at least more than one map.
As for the graphics, they are actually decent for a change, even if repetition is an issue when it comes to the enemy models. However, everything else looks fairly detailed, especially when it comes to the environments and the post-processing effects. Don’t expect an awful lot in regards to sound effects either, but at least those can be disabled if you get too annoyed by them.
All things considered, Zombies Vs Berserk could have easily been a much better game, but it needs more content and some interesting gameplay mechanics first. However, it can still keep you busy for a few minutes when you’ve got nothing better to do.
