Tough Love Machine

Tough Love Machine is a neat, clever and very colorful puzzle game. It’s built on a simple concept, and designed to work in a way that will mess with you a bit. It’s like a Sokoban for people who are in love, kind of.

The game might as well be a subtle way of saying that it takes time and work to get close to the one you love, you know, putting two hearts next to each other. Tough Love Machine can be a metaphor of a game, maybe it is, either way, it’s nice.

In it you have to use two wiggly arms that stretch and guide two hearts until they sit next to one another. When that happens, you get to go to the next level, which as expected, is more difficult. Yet another metaphor.

Tough Love Machine can be played in cooperation with another person. We’ll let you figure out who that might be in your case. If there is no one, and we’re sorry to know that, you can very well control the two hands yourself.

All you need are the arrow/ wasd keys and a good dose of puzzle solving skills. The game is not hard but since it’s rather unusual, you can easily get confused. Moreover, there’s no undo button so if you make one mistake, you have the wonderful chance of starting all over again, but just that one level.

To end, Tough Love Machine is an indie puzzle game that works well under the premise of less is more. It’s colorful, and minimalist design is nice, the gameplay is creative but not necessarily original, and as far as the puzzling scenarios go, they’re good.
