The game has little elements to it besides the actual fighting. There are no forests, mountains or cities to explore, just you, your character, the menus where you customize your character's skills, upgrades and appearance, and the arena where you fight. Despite this, the few visual that are present are done pretty well, and those f you that prefer cartoonish graphics will be even more thrilled.

Combat is turn-based, as you need to choose an opponent s body part to attack, and then choose one of your own body areas to protect, and the outcome is generally half based on luck. Defeating more and more opponents gains you more and more experience and gold, the latter which can be spent on upgrades, learning your skills or buying new equipment. Due to the lack of an overarching story and thanks to the short session-based matches, you can play this game when you have some time to spare, although not that much.

Sword vs Sword looks good, feels good, is fun, and it doesn't eat up too much of your time, making it a great game to have when you have frequent yet short moments of sitting around doing nothing.
