Sweet home

Whenever you think to yourself that your life is garbage, try to remember the existence of dung beetles, and you'll instantly feel better about your current situation. For those of you with a knack for wildlife simulators, and an attraction towards beetles, there is a game out there that allows you to control a dung beetle, and see the massive world through its eyes. That game is called Sweet home, which is rather ironic considering that a dung beetle's home and food consist of dung balls.

Farms mean livestock, and livestock means waste, fresh organic waste that would be a shame to go to waste, and that is precisely what goes through the mind of the game's protagonist when he sees the billboard. You're a dung beetle, a small defenseless bug that lives off of livestock droppings, and your journey starts with a great big ball of dung which you take control off, and you have to make sure it lasts you until you reach the farm. The problem is that since you are so little, it means you are easy pickings for a lot of predators, or at least in the game's version, birds of prey.

You direct your giant ball of dung through an environment littered with physical obstacles, all while taking into account the laws of physics that come with it. The more you roll the ball of dung, the smaller it gets since it disintegrates, so your job is to find smaller pieces to feed them to the ball and keep it big until you reach the farm. You have to do all this while avoiding predators, which can be easily done by staying in the shade or hiding in the shrubbery.

The game serves as a great reminder that, while may not think of dung as something impressive,  for a dung beetle it is home Sweet home.
