Speed Boat Parking 3D

There are all sorts of simulators out there, including some that only appeal to a very specific niche of gamers. Forklift simulator does not sound like something most people would be interested in, as it’s only normal, but there’s a big enough audience out there for such a game to be viable from a financial point of view. Thus, one can see how speedboats might be something to attract a crowd as well.

Speed Boat Parking 3D is an arcade game in which your goal is to park speedboats as quickly as possible, while trying not to hit anything along the way. The real challenge is controlling the actual boat, on the other hand, given the fact that the steering is very different from a road vehicle. Braking is just as difficult, which makes everything that much tougher.

Each stage has a particular course you have to run in order to reach the parking area, and the courses get tougher and tougher as you manage to pass them. You are penalized for hitting the markers, but you can still touch a few if you are unable to turn in time. However, the final score keeps track of your blunders, so you won’t get the maximum number of stars.

The steering is rather awkward to use, on the other hand, since you have to move a circle inside a bigger circle in order to change direction. This is very counterintuitive, not to mention difficult to use properly when you need to move quickly. There are much faster ways to implement boat steering in a video game, and this is certainly not one of them.

Thankfully, at least the graphics are nice, although that’s of very little consequence in the grand scheme of things. It doesn’t really matter how nice everything looks when it’s so annoying to control the boat, but the challenge might still keep you going for a while. There are more than enough levels that get more difficult later on.

Even if Speed Boat Parking 3D is way too slow and annoying for most gamers, it too might find some fans out there, especially since there are not many similar games to choose from. The graphics are quite pleasant.
