A lot of waiting is involved, given the fact that there are many microtransactions to help you speed things up.

You start with a few basic ships that don’t cost all that much, but you can quickly acquire more by winning battles. You can also build more factories to produce ships much faster, but these factories cost even more money. The more expensive the ship, the more time it takes for it to be built, and the fewer of them you can have at a time.

The game was initially designed for mobile audiences, which is why the controls and everything else is optimized for touchscreens. You can speed up time and production speed by spending diamonds, which can be purchased in bulk with real money. However, you can have them for free in the PC version, which is both great and not that great, given the fact that the challenge goes out the window.

There are a few other gimmicks as well, such as the fact that you can hire commanders to provide your fleet with various boosts, or trade ships for money. You can also upgrade a variety of other things about each ship type, and the game also keeps track of your statistics. Speaking of which, the actual battles take place off-screen, and you only need to press a button to see the result and earn your cash.

In the end, games like SpaceCorp don’t work all that well on PC, mainly because gamers are used to actual gameplay, not just mindless clicking. However, the good news is that you do not actually have to pay for the microtransactions.
