Sky Farm
Create gardens on floating islands and gather the crop as efficiently as possible in order to increase population #Sandbox game #Build garden #City sim #Sandbox #Garden #Build
Modern technology works wonders when it comes to bioengineering and genetics, which is why we are so good at producing crops for billions of people. Not just that, but we can even make plants grow incredibly fast and in complete darkness, which solves many problems for farmers. Still, there’s a long way to go until we completely solve the food problem.
Sky Farm is a sandbox game in which your goal is quite simple: build gardens and use a river and road system to harvest the crops. On top of that, it’s also in your best interest to attract as many villagers as possible, and you can only do so by harvesting more and more crop. The game is not very complex in most regards, but the underlying concept is sturdy, which means that it can get a lot better in the future.
To begin with, you must pay attention to where the water pools are, because crops only grow if one of their sides touch a water tile. Thus, you must first devise a river system that spans all across the map, which is not as easy as it may sounds. On top of that, you also need roads for farmers, otherwise they won’t be able to move and collect the crops.
As with every other simulator of this kind, size is everything, which means that your goal is to attract a huge population and do everything in your power to keep them fed. Thankfully, you do not have to build housing as well, since you cannot even see the villagers anyway. On the other hand, you have to pay attention to how many farmers you place, because they too consume food.
Speaking of which, everything you decide to build or hire is free, including the crops, the farmers and the marketplace buildings. This means that you are not constrained in this regard, but it’s still quite simple to go overboard if you don’t pay attention to the layout of your village. Lastly, the graphics are nothing special, but at least the textures are smooth and the overall look is pretty nice.
In the end, Sky Farm is really up to something, but it needs more content and more variety to keep the players busy for more than a few minutes. More crops and more buildings would be nice as well.
